History of ICWS

•In 1981 BRTC Integrated Central Repair Factory (ICWS) was set up at Gazipur under the supervision of JICA in joint coordination between Bangladesh and Japan.

• repair factory and BRTC staff quarters on 16.6 acres of land were constructed in 1984 with the assistance and supervision of JICA.

• After 2000 the repair work in the factory started to slow down and in 2012 it was completely shut down.In June/2021 the current chairman of BRTC activated the factory and started heavy repair work.

The factory has replaced old machinery equipment with new machinery equipment and the shed of the factory was in dilapidated condition, which is currently under renovation.
